The new online activity of the Bureau of Metrology called “Click on Lab”, whose aim is to make the young people interested in the world of science, will begin on 23 February 2022. Through announcements, i.e. texts on social networks and the website of the Bureau of Metrology, this activity will provide information about chemical elements and their specific features, crystallization process, growth and application of crystals, mixing of solutions, method of separation of mixtures and the like.

The author of all texts and accompanying photos is Alen Bjelopetrović, Ph.D. from the Division of Physical Chemistry of the Ruđer Bošković Institute from Zagreb, who is a member of the Croatian Association of Crystallographers.

We remind that during 2019 and 2020, the Bureau of Metrology held the “Beauty of Crystals” competition aimed at elementary and secondary school students in Montenegro, precisely in cooperation with the Croatian Association of Crystallographers. 220 competing teams, that is, 660 students from elementary and secondary schools, participated in the competitions for the two years of holding them.

The excellent response, as well as the interest of the students and their mentors in the aforementioned competitions, encouraged the organization of the online activity “Click on Lab” so as to continue contributing to the popularization of science, its importance and application in everyday life.
