The Department for Metrological Traceability and National Measurement Standards<\/strong> carries out the following Bureau’s activities:<\/p>\n

    \n
  • Establishment, maintenance and conservation of national measurement standards;<\/li>\n
  • Improvement and advancement of metrological properties of national measurement standards and provision of their participation in international activities;<\/li>\n
  • Establishment of metrological traceability;<\/li>\n
  • Establishment of the national system of units of measurement prescribed by the Law on Metrology and related bylaws;<\/li>\n
  • Calibration of measurement standards;<\/li>\n
  • Examination of working standards and other measurement equipment;<\/li>\n
  • Realization of the national time-scale, distribution and time distribution control;<\/li>\n
  • Carrying out of metrological expertise;<\/li>\n
  • Type-examination of measuring instruments;<\/li>\n
  • Testing of reference materials used to achieve traceability in the field of metrology in chemistry and other fields of measurement;<\/li>\n
  • Giving expert opinion for the authorization of persons carrying out activities in the field of metrology;<\/li>\n
  • Participation in key interlaboratory comparisons at the international level;<\/li>\n
  • Participation in scientific and research activities;<\/li>\n
  • Preparation of expert grounds for drafting regulations in the field of metrology;<\/li>\n
  • Drafting studies, analysis, and research-development projects in the field of metrology;<\/li>\n
  • Establishment and maintenance of the quality system;<\/li>\n
  • Improvement and development of information and communication technologies in the Bureau;<\/li>\n
  • Creation and implementation of work procedures with information and communication technologies;<\/li>\n
  • Administration of the local network, external communications and the Internet;<\/li>\n
  • Development and updating of the Bureau’s website;<\/li>\n
  • Primary maintenance of LAN, communications and application software;<\/li>\n
  • Introduction, installation and reinstallation of the system and network software, program systems and databases;<\/li>\n
  • Providing expert opinion regarding metrology-related questions.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
