The Bureau of Metrology is hosting a training titled “Calibration of Long Gauge Blocks (125 mm to 500 mm) by mechanical comparison and Calibration of Measuring Tapes and Rulers” from 11 to 14 September 2018.

The training is organized by the European Association of National Metrology Institutes (EURAMET) in order for the participants to get acquainted with the theory and practice in the field on calibration of long gauge blocks.

During the training, traceability in length measurement for calibration of measuring tapes and rulers will be discussed, as well as the calibration of measuring tapes and rulers using BMG 2000 length measuring device, uncertainty calculations for calibration of measuring tapes and rulers, fundamental principles of dimensional measurements, and examples for capabilities and devices used by NMIs will also be given.

The training will be delivered by: Tanfer Yandayan, (TUBITAK UME) from Turkey, Helge Karlsson, (Justervesenet) from Norway, Rudolf Thalmann (METAS) from Switzerland, Alen Bošnjaković, (IMBIH) from Bosnia and Herzegovina, and the representatives from the Bureau of Metrology, Gordana Bajić and Tomo Božović.
