Activities
Activities performed at the Laboratory for Pressure are related to:
- Realization, conservation, maintenance and improvement of the national standard for pressure in Montenegro;
- Ensuring metrological traceability in the field of pressure in Montenegro through the transfer of the pressure unit from the national standard to the
- secondary and working mass standards;
- Development of the measuring methods for transferring the pressure unit;
- Calibration of the pressure measuring instrument;
- electro mechanical manometers in the range from -0,95 bar to 1200 bar;
- electromechanical absolute pressure measuring manometers in the range from 100 mbar to 2 bar;
- participation in inter-laboratory comparisons;
- Laying down the prescribed technical and metrological requirements for determining the measuring instrument type for mass measuring instruments;
- Verifying the pressure gauges:
- manometers for measuring pressure in pneumatics;
- blood pressure manometers;
- manometers used in the function of protection of assets, environment, natural resources, protection at work and against accidents.
National Standards
National standards in the field of pressure measuring in Montenegro are represented by:
- dead weight tester DH Budenberg 554A, accuracy class <0.005%, measuring range from 0,2 bar to 25 bar using gas as a working medium;
- hydraulic dead weight tester DH Budenberg 580 HXA, accuracy class <0.007%, measuring range from 1 bar to 60 bar low range and 60 bar to 1200 bar high range, using hydraulic oil as a working medium;
- precision pressure indicator PACE 1000, accuracy class <0.005 %, measuring range from 750 mbar to 1150 mbar absolute barometric pressure sensor.
Calibration Of Measurement Standards
Accredited area:
- electromechanical manometer in the field of overpressure in the range from -0,95 bar to 1200 bar;
- electromechanical manometer in the field of absolute pressure in the range from 100 mbar to 2 bar.
Verification Of Measuring Instruments
Laboratory for Pressure carries out an examination of pressure measuring instruments in order to determine compliance with the prescribed metrological requirements with the aim of verification of pressure measuring instruments:
- manometers for measuring pressure in pneumatics;
- blood pressure manometers;
- manometers used in the function of protection of assets, environment, natural resources, protection at work and against accidents.
Type Approval of Measuring Instrument
In order to ascertain compliance with the prescribed technical and metrology demands, to determine type of measuring instrument, Laboratory for Pressure carries out a procedure for issuing a Decision on the type approval of the measuring instrument in the field of pressure in accordance with Decree on legal measuring instruments that are mandatory subjected to verification and/or the type approval of the measuring instrument (Official Gazette of Republic of Montenegro, No. 81/09):
- manometers for measuring pressure in pneumatics;
- blood pressure manometers;
Traceability Scheme
Laboratory for pressure owns standards by which traceability in pressure measuring is achieved. Reference standards of the Laboratory for Pressure are: precision pressure indicator PACE 1000, gas dead weight tester DHB 554A and hydraulic dead weight tester DHB 580 HXA. Traceability is transferred further from this standards to a working standard – precise pressure standard DHB PPS 42, where the reference standards, together with the working standard, are used for the transfer of traceability to measuring instruments/standards of the end users whose calibrations are performed at the Laboratory for Pressure.
